Gwyn & Campbell Carbine 2nd model – breechloading, lever action falling block cavlry carbine. It used combustible cartridges in .52 caliber and separate percussion caps. It was patented in 1862 by Edward Gwyn and Abner C. Campbell and manufactured in their Cosmopolitan Arms Company in Hamilton Ohio. The production lasted till 1864 with around 8000 carbines made. It was aslo named “Union Carbine” or “Grapewine”.
